In June, I held a Scam Prevention Forum with Sue Ellery, Minister for Commerce, and Sharon and Phuong from Consumer Protection WA.
The event had a fantastic turnout from our local community, and it was great to take part in helping to safeguard our locals against scams.
We learnt some tips and tricks to recognise scams, as well as learning what to do if you get caught by a scam.
My favourite tip - if a deal feels too good to be true, it probably is! Being critical of online-deals will help us stay one step ahead of those sneaky scammers.
